I own some exercise DVD’s, and the dvd player for my computer played them back with many pauses and stalls. I ordered this product when I discovered the dvd’s played fine on another player in the Family Room. I have used this product daily for a couple of months, and no pauses or skips during playback. Problem solved, for a very nice price.

I’ve used a few external DVD/CD drives in the past. They either use an A/C adapter in addition to the USB cable, or just use the USB cable alone to supply data and power to the drive. This Sony DVD/CD external drive was NOT properly described in the listing. It has TWO USB cables that MUST be BOTH connected to 2 separate USB ports on the laptop in order for it to function. This is the most absurd design that I have EVER come across. The USB cables are just a few inches long and on some laptops, it would not be possible to plug both cables into USB ports on two different sides of the laptop. I immediately contacted Amazon for return authorization.
